CisionScoop: Francesca Conti has swapped roles at FOX Business Network and is now segment producer for the network’s Cavuto: Coast to Coast show. She previously worked in the same capacity for FBN’s Varney & Company, and joined FOX in 2013 as assistant producer.
CisionScoop: Viacom has hired Nick Guillory as director of lifestyle at MTV; he is based in Los Angeles. He previously spent three years at Buzzfeed, where he most recently oversaw the entire Tasty Snapchat Discovery feed. Prior to that, he worked as a social media coordinator for The Queen Latifah Show.
Mohammed Hadi is set to join The New York Times May 21 as the news director of the paper’s Business Day vertical. He comes from Business Insider, where he most recently served as executive editor. Prior to that, he was as a team lead at Bloomberg News, and has also reported for The Wall Street Journal Asia and Dow Jones newswires out of Singapore.
The Wall Street Journal has welcomed back veteran magazine editor Heather Halberstadt as the new editor of Mansions, effective May 14. Halberstadt has had a distinguished career in magazines, and spent six years at Departures magazine as features director, more than a year at WSJ Magazine, and almost a decade at Vanity Fair.
Buzzfeed articles editor Ellen Cushing will leave the outlet in June to join The Atlantic and lead the magazine’s San Francisco bureau as senior editor covering technology. Cushing has been with Buzzfeed since 2015 and previously served as senior editor at San Francisco magazine.
The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on CBS has upped Denise Rehrig to co-executive producer. Rehrig was previously a senior supervising producer for The Late Show and joined CBS in that capacity in June 2016. Prior to that, she spent eight years as senior broadcast producer for Good Morning America on ABC.
Jessica Matlin has joined Harper’s Bazaar as beauty director. Matlin comes to Hearst from Conde Nast, where she most recently served as the beauty and health director for Teen Vogue. Prior to that, she was the deputy beauty editor for Cosmopolitan, and has also worked at Lucky; O, The Oprah Magazine; Allure; and W.
Lifestyle freelancer Madeline Rose Nachbar has joined Mpls. St. Paul Magazine as trends and style editor. She has been freelancing for Wit & Delight, LLC since 2017, and prior to that worked as marketing and communications manager at Worrell, Inc.
KAMP-FM radio, CHR 97.1 Amp Radio in Los Angeles., has brought on Yesi Ortiz as midday on-air personality. She comes from Power 106FM KPWR-FM, where she spent the last 12 years as on-air personality and assistant music coordinator.
After more than two decades at the Phoenix Business Journal, Ilana Lowery has announced she will step down as editor in chief of the publication. Her last day is June 4. Lowery joined the paper in 1995 as a reporter, and later became managing editor in 1999, and then editor in 2001. She has been the editor in chief since 2012.
Cheryl Ann Castro is no longer with WYAY-FM. She left the Atlanta radio station after being a news anchor and on-air personality since 2012. Prior to that, she spent a decade at CNN as radio network anchor and editor.
