CisionScoop: Reuters welcomes Greg Mitchell as the new West Coast bureau chief. He will be based in San Francisco. Previously, Mitchell served as editor in chief of Law.com, and editor in chief of The Recorder.
CisionScoop: John Hendrickson is the political news editor at Rolling Stone, working across print and web, effective immediately. He most recently served as deputy editor of Esquire online, as well as associate editor before that.
CisionScoop: Sarah Olin has left Cosmopolitan to become the art director for Glamour in New York. She served as deputy art director at Cosmo, and was previously the senior designer for Details. She began her new role this March.
Colleen T. Long is now a reporter for The Associated Press, based in Washington, D.C. She will cover the Department of Homeland Security, law enforcement and Immigration. Before her new role, she was a night supervisor and editor for the AP, as well as an online editor.
The Washington Post‘s Theresa Vargas has made a transition from an investigative reporter to a metro columnist, effective immediately. Theresa has written for WaPo’s enterprise team for nine years, starting as a Prince William County police reporter. She was most recently working with the Fired/Rehired series for the paper.
After 51 years, Institutional Investor has ceased its print publication and has become digital. The magazine will continue to cover research investment tools, as well as include discussion groups exclusively for finance professionals. h/t TalkingBizNews
Michelle Relerford has been promoted to weekend evening anchor for WMAQ-TV, the NBC affiliate in Chicago. She was previously a general assignment reporter, and fill-in anchor, as well as an anchor and reporter for WHDH-TV in Boston.
Weekend anchor Rod Fritz says farewell to WBZ-AM, Boston’s news radio. He was with the station since 2007, and had previously anchored in Boston for Fox News. He also served as news director for WRKO-AM.
As of May, Lauren Stanton is set to leave WZZM-TV, the ABC affiliate for northwest Grand Rapids, Michigan. The departure comes after 18 years reporting and anchoring for channel 13. She serves as a family & parenting reporter, and delivers a segment called “Try It Before You Buy It.”
The Rocky Mount Telegram‘s editor Jeff Herin has retired, effective March 9. He was with the newspaper for 25 years. Herin is succeeded by Gene Metrick, who has previously served as the city editor and online & print content editor.
