CisionScoop: Shilpa Prabhakar Nadella has been promoted to fashion market director at Glamour. She joined the magazine in 2016 as senior fashion market editor and has also worked with ELLE, most recently as fashion market editor.
CisionScoop: LA Weekly welcomed Shana Nys Dambrot as arts editor. She was previously a writer at the paper for several years until 2015. Nys Dambrot has also contributed to KCET’s Artbound, HuffPost, Flavorpill, Whitehot Magazine and Flaunt Magazine, among others.
CisionScoop: Gordon Rago has joined The Virginian-Pilot in Norfolk as a general assignment reporter. He most recently reported for the Daily Record in York, Pennsylvania, as well as the Shoshone News-Press in Osburn, Idaho.
Starting April 23, Julia Von Boehm is InStyle‘s new fashion director. She previously worked as fashion editor of French Vogue from 2004 to 2010, and has freelanced for Harper’s Bazaar and German Vogue.
NPR has appointed Jennifer Liberto as its deputy business editor. She has been senior editor of All Things Considered’s weekend edition since 2015, and was interim executive editor since November. She has previously written for POLITICO Pro and CNNMoney.
David Griner has been promoted from director of digital initiatives to creative and innovation editor at Adweek, leading coverage of new ideas across the marketing sector. He has worked for Adweek in various capacities since 2007 and has been on staff full time since 2014. Since then, he has also served as social editor, digital managing editor and podcast host.
Amidst a broader reorganization of the Chicago Tribune‘s newsroom, reporting residents Elyssa Cherney and Elvia Malagon have been promoted to full-time reporters. They both joined the paper in 2016; Cherney from the Orlando Sentinel, and Malagon from The Times in Munster, Indiana.
Business Insider hired Olivia Oran as its new senior editor leading a team of reporters covering the financial industry. Oran joins from Reuters, where she served as the banking team leader, a Wall Street banking reporter and a healthcare and capital markets correspondent. h/t TalkingBizNews
Cision Blog regrets to inform its readers that John Laposky has passed away. Laposky served as a copy editor for Reed Business Information in 1992, and began as managing editor of TWICE (This Week In Consumer Electronics) in 1995. In 2014 he took over as editor in chief.
