CisionScoop: AJ Dellinger is now the nights and weekends editor for Gizmodo. An experienced technology journalist, Dellinger has previously written for International Business Times (and under the parent umbrella Newsweek Media Group), The Daily Dot, WatchMojo.com, Alloy Digital, Stack Commerce, and more.
CisionScoop: KUSA-TV, the NBC affiliate in Denver, Colorado, welcomed Caitlin Hendee as its new executive producer for digital content. Most recently, Hendee served as associate editor and digital producer for the Denver Business Journal, where she worked for over four years.
CisionScoop: Taking over for Hendee at the Denver Business Journal is reporter Jonathan Rose, who will officially assume his post as associate editor on May 14. Before joining DBJ in 2017, Rose was a reporter for Met Media.
The New York Times added two new faces to its audio staff. Jessica Cheung will begin on April 23 as an associate producer for The Daily, NYT’s weekday global news podcast. She most recently served as a production assistant and director for NPR’s All Things Considered. Additionally, Stella Tan joined the outlet as a news assistant, focused primarily in the audio and podcast department. Previously, she served as managing editor for Guernica Magazine.
Brian Bennett joined the Washington bureau at TIME as senior White House correspondent. This comes after eight years as staff writer at the Los Angeles Times, where he won a Pulitzer Prize for his coverage of San Bernardino in 2015. Bennett served a previous stint with TIME from 2000 to 2008.
ESPN has named Ricardo Zúñiga as its new deputy coordinating editor for the Americas, overseeing content across digital properties in Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America. An experienced sports journalist, Zúñiga has served as an editor and reporter for the Associated Press for the past twenty years.
After two years at The Witchita Eagle, Steve Coffman has joined the Fort Worth Star-Telegram as executive editor. He has served in several editorial roles across the country, including the Jackson (MS) Sun, The Fayetteville (NC) Observer, and the Finger Lakes (NY) Times.
Following top editor Jeff Taylor’s departure from The Indianapolis Star, executive editor Ronnie Ramos now leads the newsroom for both digital and print. A veteran of the Star, Ramos first joined in 2004 as a senior editor.
Experienced health reporter Liz Bonis is now the host for WKRC-TV‘s new half-hour weekly series, What’s Happening In Health. She has covered health issues for the Cincinnati CBS affiliate since 2002, and is a registered dietitian, certified personal trainer, and diabetes educator.
After 44 years as a business reporter for the San Diego Union-Tribune, Roger Showley has retired. Showley covered a wide range of topics at the paper, from San Diego’s history and architecture, to local business trends and growth. h/t Talking Biz News.
