CisionScoop: Kimberly Cox said goodbye to NBC’s Atlanta affiliate, WXIA-TV where she served as producer since 2016. Prior to working with WXIA she served as a news producer for various stations such as ABC13 in Norfolk, VA, and KUSA-TV in Denver.
The New Yorker has added Susan B. Glasser as a new staff writer covering Washington and politics. She recently departed from POLITICO where she held various positions since 2013 including chief foreign affairs columnist, editor, and magazine editor.
Emily Nemens was named the new editor of the literary magazine The Paris Review. She worked at the Louisiana based literary magazine The Southern Review starting in 2011 as prose editor and was named co-editor in 2013.
The Wall Street Journal named Marie Beaudette as its new banking editor. She has worked with the WSJ and Dow Jones since 2004 and has held various positions such as news editor, deputy deals editor and most recently, assistant managing editor of talent. h/t Talking Biz News
There were two new deputy sports editors at The Associated Press. Howie Rumberg has been named deputy sports editor for news-gathering and will supervise sports editors outside of the US. Oskar Garcia was appointed deputy sports editor of presentation and storytelling and will oversee sports editors within the US, and will manage how content is presented on digital and social platforms.
Daria Solovieva joined the TheStreet as the executive editor of its subscription product, Real Money. She was the founder of ella letter which provides career, financial and travel advice to women in the middle east. She has also worked for Bloomberg News’ Dubai bureau as an Islamic finance reporter and for Energy Intelligence as a US corporate reporter.
After over 36 years, The Seattle Times said its farewells to local news columnist Jerry Large as he announced his retirement. He had worked at the Times since 1983 and covered topics such as family life, culture, education, race and class.
Levi Ismail joined Houston’s CBS Affiliate KHOU-TV as a multimedia journalist covering local news. He has also served as a reporter for Waterman Broadcasting Corp. in Fort Meyers, FL and for FIMT-TV in Mason City Iowa.
Jason Noble, chief political reporter at the Des Moines Register, has departed the paper to join Let America Vote as its communications director. He started at the Register in 2011 as a reporter covering state and national politics and before that worked at The Kansas City Star as a Missouri capital correspondent.
Andrew O’Hara joined the Apple Inc. focused blog AppleInsider as editor and video producer. He previously worked for two years at iDownloadBlog as a video producer where he also covered Apple products.
