CisionScoop: After four years at Entertainment Weekly, Madison Vain has moved to Esquire in New York, effective immediately. She is now working as editor of the magazine’s Snapchat Discover channel. Prior to EW, Vain spent two years at Sports Illustrated.
CisionScoop: Stephanie Baer is now reporting for the breaking news team at Buzzfeed out of the Los Angeles bureau. She previously reported for the San Gabriel Valley Newspapers, and left her post in February. Prior to that, she reported for the Chicago Tribune.
CisionScoop: Steph Eckelkamp no longer works for Rodale’s Organic Life after five and a half years with the parent company. She most recently served as Organic Life’s senior digital editor and held positions at Prevention magazine before that. She is now a freelance journalist covering nutrition, relationships, and personal health and wellness based in Allentown, Pennsylvania.
Bloomberg News welcomed Kamaron Leach as its newest reporter covering technology, media and telecommunications from New York. The move comes after reporting for Mergers & Acquisitions since 2016. Leach wrote for The 401k Wire prior to his time at M&A. h/t TalkingBizNews
After completing his David Carr Fellowship, John Herrman has become a reporter for The New York Times Biz Day. He will cover media and social media platforms. Herrman previously reported on technology for Buzzfeed, and was co-editor of The Awl.
The Associated Press named Nancy Benac White House editor after serving as interim White House editor since last summer. The veteran AP journalist will lead all coverage of President Trump’s White House. Benac joined the news service as an intern in 1980, and has worked out of Washington since 1983.
Chicago native Lizzie Schiffman Tufano joined the Chicago Sun-Times as director of news planning and strategy. She previously served as a downtown reporter and later senior editor for DNAinfo Chicago. Prior to her years at DNAinfo, she was the associate Chicago editor for HuffPost.
WRTV-TV in Indianapolis said farewell to morning news reporter Julie Pursley. She was with the station for over 17 years, appearing on various newscasts and Good Morning Indiana. She has joined Community Health Net, and works with the communications team managing, developing and implementing their communications and marketing plans.
